How To Install Windows 7 (Step-By-Step Tutorial With Screenshots)

Load in your Windows 7 DVD and boot it. It will now load the setup files.


Select your language, time & currency format, keyboard or input method and click Next.

Click Install now.

Check I accept the license terms and click Next.

Click Upgrade if you already have a previous Windows version or Custom (advanced) if you don’t have a previous Windows version or want to install a fresh copy of Windows 7.

(Skip this step if you chose Upgrade and have only one partition) Select the drive where you want to install Windows 7 and click Next. If you want to make any partitions, click Drive options (advanced), make the partitions and then click Next.

It will now start installing Windows 7. The first step, (i.e. Copying Windows files) was already done when you booted the Windows 7 DVD so it will complete instantly.

After completing the first step, it will expand (decompress) the files that it had copied.


The third and fourth step will also complete instantly like the first step.


After that it will automatically restart after 15 seconds and continue the setup. You can also click Restart now to restart without any delays.



After restarting for the first time, it will continue the setup. This is the last step so it will take the most time than the previous steps.

It will now automatically restart again and continue the setup. You can click Restart now to restart without any delays.




Type your desired user name in the text-box and click Next. It will automatically fill up the computer name.

If you want to set a password, type it in the text-boxes and click Next.

Type your product key in the text-box and click Next. You can also skip this step and simply click Next if you want to type the product key later. Windows will run only for 30 days if you do that.

Select your desired option for Windows Updates.

Select your time and click Next.

If you are connected to any network, it will ask you to set the network’s location.

And there you have a fresh copy of Windows 7 installed!

Formatting your hard disk during a custom installation of Windows 7 permanently erases everything on the partition that you are formatting, including your files, settings, and programs.

Back up any files and settings you want to keep so that you can restore them after the installation is complete. You'll need to reinstall your programs, so make sure you have the installation discs and product keys for the programs you want to use in Windows 7, or setup files for any programs you downloaded from the Internet.

Notes

• If you're using an upgrade version of Windows 7, don't use a program from another software manufacturer to reformat your hard disk before installing Windows 7. Instead, follow the instructions in this section.
• Some programs such as Windows Mail and Outlook Express are no longer included in Windows 7. If you used Windows Mail or Outlook Express as your e‑mail program, you'll need to install a new e‑mail program after you finish installing Windows 7 to read your messages or to send and receive e‑mail. For more information about programs you can use, go to Looking for Windows Mail? on the Windows website.
• If you're running a 64-bit version of Windows and plan to install a 32-bit version of Windows 7, programs that were designed to run only on a 64-bit operating system might not work. Check the software manufacturer's website for more information, or go to the Windows 7 Compatibility Center webpage to search for hardware and software tested to be compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7.

To install Windows 7 using the Custom option and formatting the hard disk

To format your hard disk during Windows 7 installation, you'll need to start, or boot, your computer using the Windows 7 installation disc or USB flash drive.

1. Turn on your computer so that Windows starts normally, insert the Windows 7 installation disc or USB flash drive, and then shut down your computer.
2. Restart your computer.
3. Press any key when prompted, and then follow the instructions that appear.
4. On the Install Windows page, enter your language and other preferences, and then click Next.
   If the Install Windows page doesn't appear, and you're not asked to press any key, you might need to change some system settings. To learn how to do this, see Start your computer from a Windows 7 installation disc or USB flash drive.
5. On the Please read the license terms page, if you accept the license terms, click I accept the license terms, and then click Next.
6. On the Which type of installation do you want? page, click Custom.
7. On the Where do you want to install Windows? page, click Drive options (advanced).
8. Click the partition that you want to change, click the formatting option you want to perform, and then follow the instructions.
9. When you've finished formatting, click Next.
10. Follow the instructions to finish installing Windows 7, which include naming your computer and setting up an initial user account.

Notes

• If you're using the upgrade version of Windows 7 on a computer without an operating system installed, you might not be able to activate this type of installation. The upgrade version requires Windows XP or Windows Vista to be installed on the computer to activate Windows 7. During setup, you need to leave the product key box empty. To activate Windows 7, go to the Microsoft Support website. For more information, see Windows 7 activation error: invalid product key and Windows 7 activation error: 0xC004F061.
• You might need to update drivers after Windows 7 installation is complete. To do so, click the Start button , click All Programs, and then click Windows Update . If Windows Update doesn't have the driver you need, see Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly, or go to the Windows 7 Compatibility Center webpage.

USING THE CUSTOM INSTALLATION

Using the Custom installation option without formatting the hard disk

The Custom option installs a new copy of Windows 7 on the partition you choose. This erases your files, programs, and settings.

Back up any files and settings you want to keep so that you can restore them after the installation is complete. You'll need to reinstall your programs, so make sure you have the installation discs and product keys for the programs you want to use in Windows 7, or setup files for any programs you downloaded from the Internet.

Notes

• Some programs such as Windows Mail and Outlook Express are no longer included in Windows 7. If you used Windows Mail or Outlook Express as your e‑mail program, you'll need to install a new e‑mail program after you finish installing Windows 7 to read your messages or to send and receive e‑mail. For more information about programs you can use, go to Looking for Windows Mail? on the Windows website.
• If you're running a 64-bit version of Windows and plan to install a 32-bit version of Windows 7, programs that were designed to run only on a 64-bit operating system might not work. Check the software manufacturer's website for more information, or go to the Windows 7 Compatibility Center webpage to search for hardware and software tested to be compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7.
• If you don't format your hard disk during installation, data files are saved to a Windows.old folder on the partition you installed Windows 7 on. However, you should still back up your files. If you have data files that are encrypted, you might not be able to access them after installing Windows 7. If you've backed up your data files and then restored them after installing Windows 7, you can delete the Windows.old folder.

To install Windows 7 using the Custom option without formatting the hard disk

1. Turn on your computer so that Windows starts normally, then do one of the following:
   • If you downloaded Windows 7, browse to the installation file you downloaded, and then double-click it.
   • If you have a Windows 7 installation disc, insert the disc into your computer. Setup should start automatically. If it doesn't, click the Start button , click Computer, double-click your DVD drive to open the Windows 7 installation disc, and then double-click setup.exe.
   • If you've downloaded Windows 7 installation files onto a USB flash drive, insert the drive into your computer. Setup should start automatically. If it doesn't, click the Start button , click Computer, double-click the drive, and then double-click setup.exe.
2. On the Install Windows page, follow any instructions that are displayed, and then click Install now.
3. On the Get important updates for installation page, we recommend getting the latest updates to help ensure a successful installation and to help protect your computer against security threats. You need an Internet connection to get installation updates.
4. On the Please read the license terms page, if you accept the license terms, click I accept the license terms, and then click Next.
5. On the Which type of installation do you want? page, click Custom.
6. On the Where do you want to install Windows? page, choose the partition containing your previous version of Windows (this is often the computer's C: drive), and then click Next.
7. In the Windows.old dialog box, click OK.
8. Follow the instructions to finish installing Windows 7, which include naming your computer and setting up an initial user account.

• You might need to update drivers after Windows 7 installation is complete. To do so, click the Start button , click All Programs, and then click Windows Update . Reinstalling Windows 7

Reinstalling Windows 7

You can reinstall Windows 7 using Recovery in Control Panel, under Advanced recovery methods. This method reinstalls Windows 7, either from a recovery image provided by your computer manufacturer, or from your original Windows 7 installation files. You need to reinstall all of the programs that you added, and restore all of your files from a backup. For more information, see Choosing an advanced recovery method.

If Windows 7 doesn't run at all, you can reinstall Windows using your original Windows 7 installation disc. To do this, follow the instructions in "Using the Custom installation option and formatting the hard disk" earlier in this topic.

Note

• Back up your files before you begin reinstalling Windows 7 if possible, even if you're reinstalling Windows 7 on a hard disk partition, and you have personal files on a separate partition. For example, if you have encrypted files, you might not be able to access them after reinstalling Windows. M : Awak perasan tak ada seorang lelaki yang sedang berjalan mengikuti kita kira-kira sejak tiga puluh lapan minit yang lalu? Aku kuatir dia bermaksud jahat. L : Itu hal yang Logik. Aku rasa dia nak merogol kita la. M : Alamak, dengan kecepatan berjalan kita seperti ini, dalam waktu 15 minit dia akan berjaya tangkap kita. Adoh hai, apa yang harus kita buat?. L : Hanya ada 1 cara logik yg harus kita lakukan, iaitu berjalan lebih cepat. M : Itu tidak banyak membantu laa, macammana ni. L : Tentulah tidak membantu, Logiknya kalau kita berjalan lebih cepat dia juga akan berjalan lebih cepat. M : Jadi, apa yang harus kita lakukan? Dengan kecepatan kita seperti ini dia akan berhasil menangkap kita dalam waktu dua minit setengah je lagi... L : Hanya ada satu langkah Logik yang harus kita lakukan.. Engkau ikut jalan kiri dan aku ikut jalan kanan. Setelah kedua gadis itu berpisah.. Ternyata lelaki tadi mengikut langkah si gadis yang menggunakan logikal (L). Gadis matematik (M) tiba dirumah lebih dulu dan dia kuatir akan keselamatan kawannya. Tidak berapa lama Gadis Logik (L) datang. M : Oh Syukur ya Allaaaaah.. Kawan aku tiba dengan selamat, Eh macamana cerita engkau kena ikut oleh lelaki tadi? L : Yelah, Setelah kita berpisah dia terus mengikuti aku. M : Ya.. ya.. Tetapi apa yang terjadi kemudian dengan engkau? L : Sesuai dengan logik aku, teruslah aku lari sekuat hati dan lelaki itupun lari sekuat tenaga jugak. M : Dan... dan.. L : Sesuai dengan logik, dia berjaya mendekati aku ditempat yang gelap... M : Jadik.. Apa yang engkau lakukan? L : Hanya ada satu logik yang dapat aku lakukan, iaitu mengangkat kain aku tinggi-tinggi sampai nampak seluar dalam. M : Alamak... jadik apa yang dilakukan lelaki tadi? L : Sesuai dengan logik... Dia bukak tali pinggang, bukak zip dan londehkan seluarnya... M : Alamak... jadi apa yang berlaku? L : Logik bukan, kalau gadis yang mengangkat kainnya larinya lebih cepat dari pada lelaki yang berlari sambil seluarnya terlondeh, langkah aku besar, tapi dia macam orang yang masuk pertandingan lari dalam guni... So akhirnya aku terlepas dari lelaki itu. M: Ha ha ha ha Memang logik.

Skirt ketat

Seorang perempuan berpotongan seksi dan cantik memakai skirt ketat separas lutut dan sehelai blouse lengan panjang sedang berdiri disebuah perhentian bas. Ketika itu ramai orang sedang memenuhi pondok tersebut. Apabila bas datang, perempuan tersebut mengalami kesukaran untuk memanjat tangga bas dek kerana skirtnya yang ketat tersebut. Setelah berfikir seketika akhirnya dia mengambil keputusan untuk membuka sedikit zip skirtnya, namun masih gagal dan dia menurunkan sedikit lagi zip tetapi masih sukar, akhirnya dia terus membuka keseluruhan zip skirtnya kerana tiada apa yang perlu dibimbangkan sebab bajunya dimasukkan kedalam skirt... namun dia masih juga gagal memanjat tangga bas, sedangkan ramai orang sedang beratur dibelakangnya. Perempuan tersebut telah habis akal, sedang dia berfikir tiba-tiba dia terasa ada tangan menolak punggungnya menaiki tangga bas, dia menoleh dan didapati lelaki dibelakangnya yang melakukan perbuatan tersebut. Dengan nada lantang dia memarahi lelaki tersebut "Apahal ko pegang punggung aku? gatal!" Jawap lelaki tersebut "ko pun gatal jugak... yang pergi bukak zip seluar aku tiga kali apasal?"

"Lewat 4 bulan"

Sepasang pengantin yang baru berkahwin 4 bulan. pada suatu malam si isteri memeluk leher suami dengan nada manja seraya berkata, " ayang, period i dah lewat sebulan, tapi i tak boleh nak pastikan lagi sebab kita kena gi check kat doktor." Si suami yang teramat gembira tu pun berpakat dengan isterinya untuk tidak memberitahu sesiapa pun tentang perkhabaran gembira ini sehingga ianya benar2 pasti. Pada suatu hari, pasangan ini di datangi oleh pegawai dari TNB kerana terdapat tunggakkan dalam pembayaran bill elektrik rumah mereka. Pegawai TNB tu pun berkata " ini rumah En. Mahpus ker?" "iya, saya ni isterinya. ada apa encik" Pegawai TNB tu pun berkata, " Puan, ni dah sebulan lewat, saya dah tak boleh tunggu ni, nanti boss saya marah." Dengan nada terkejut, si isteri itu pun membalas balik cakap pegawai TNB tu." APA??? Macam mana pulak encik tahu yg saya ni sebulan lewat???" Pegawai TNB tu pun dengan selamba menjawab " ala puan, ni kan zaman IT, semua tu ada dalam komputer dan kita boleh check Online" Kata-kata pegawai TNB tu membuatkan si isteri tu lagi terkejut. "APAAA????Saya lewat sebulan pun awak semua boleh tahuuu??? " Pegawai TNB tu pun mententeramkan keadaan" Relek puan, puan ni baru lewat sebulan, ada yg lagi teruk, lewat 5-6 bulan" Si isteri yg terperanjat beruk dengan kenyataan pegawai tu pun berkata, nanti saya bincang dengan suami saya..lalau pegawai TNB tu pun beredar dari situ.. Keesokkan harinya, selepas si Mahphus ini di beritahu oleh isterinya, dia pun naik berang dan terus ambik cuti dan pergi ke kedai TNB yg berdekatan.. Dengan tanpa menghiraukan pegawai-pegawai TNB yg ramai di situ, dia pun memekik seraya berkata "Apa korang ni, isteri saya sebulan lewat pun nak heboh2 ke dalam internet. awak ni semua yg berkeluarga tak pernah lewat sebulan kerrrr????!! bisness apa korang buat niii?? nak kena saman kerr??? Lalu pegawai yg datang kerumah si Mahphus ni berdiri dan mententeramkan keadaan. "sabar encik, sabar encik. apa susah, kalau cik nak settlekan perkara ni, bayar je..." kata-kata pegawai TNB tu membuatkan si mahphus naik berang. "APAAA?? nak bayar korang? belahhhh lahh...." Lalu pegawai TNB tu pun cakap " kalau macam tu, Kita terpaksa potong encik punya....... ...." Si Mahpus mencelah " apa??? potong??? abih tu isteri saya di rumah nak pakai apaaaaaa??? Pegawai TNB tu pun cakap " nampak gayanye..ISTERI ENCIK KENA PAKAI LILIN AJERRRLAAAAAAAA" ???????????? ???????.. ......... .........
